Rather than asking for a new approval, the ownership is arguing that a 1966 zoning decision already gives them the right to build 288 townhomes on roughly 14 acres of the course, without a full rezoning or a comprehensive plan amendment. ⠀ Fairfax County planners are reviewing whether that argument holds up legally. Hunter Mill Supervisor Walter Alcorn has said he won’t support any change without broad community consensus.
